Apple already has an iPhone 4 model running on two of the biggest mobile carrier networks within the United States. Now, in addition to an iPhone for AT&T and Verizon, it would appear that Cupertino is working on a prototype model for T-Mobile USA. This 3G network model which has surfaced is not a jailbroken phone in any way, but it is a legitimate device. According to BGR, it’s to late for Apple to release an iPhone on another competitor network. Rather, the more likely thing that we are seeing here is Apple is getting the hardware ready so that when AT&T does buyout T-Mobile, Apple will have an iPhone that is ready for shipping. This would ensure that if the merger is successful, customers wouldn’t have to wait around as this of course negatively affects Apple’s revenue. It’s also not uncommon for Apple to be testing new equipment. Prior to the official launch of a CDMA iPhone for Verizon, it was discovered that Cupertino was already working on a prototype that would support CDMA frequencies.n It may still be a little ways away before an iPhone comes to the T-Mobile network, but this is a step in the right direction and points to the fact that this issue is getting Apple’s attention. Who knows, when this comes to T-Mobile, this may just be the start as the iPhone 4S or iPhone 5 is around the corner.
